Summary

This is the site of a smock mill shown on Bryant's map of 1826. The mill was last used in 1889. A watching brief carried out by the NAU in 1997 did not reveal any archaeological features relating to the mill.

Site of wind mill?
(S1) shows a view of Loddon with a tall wind mill (smock mill?) somewhere southwest of the church.
At this grid reference (S2) has a small blotch which might be intended for the symbol for a wind mill.
Nothing on (S3).

Few features found probably of recent date.
