Full Description
1925.
About Latitiude 52 degrees, 35' north and longitude 2 degree, 50' east.
About forty five miles east of Great Yarmouth.
Dredged up by steam trawler Ennerdale out of Grimsby.
Stone mortar, 13th/14th century, of Dunning's type 2, Caen Stone.
Base shows wear of pestle indicating that object had had considerable use, and thus suggests a shipwreck rather than a loss overboard.
British Museum (Medieval and Later Antiquities) OA 308.
