Full Description
7 April 1981. Location [1].
Human skeleton with head at west. A gault hole (subsidence over a cavity formed by the localised solution of the chalk bedrock) exposed a skeleton at a depth of 40cm. Most of the skeleton had sunk into the cavity but the legs remained in situ. The farmer had removed the right femur. Beneath the skeleton were two dressed stone blocks. These appeared to have been dumped into a small pit which also contained the femur of a dog? No dateable material was found and the site was not excavated.
