Summary

The 18th century red brick house hides an earlier building inside it. Inside are unusual ceiling beams that may date to the late 16th century and Jacobean panelling.

Listing Description:
18th century red brick casing with earlier core. Steep black-glazed pantile roof with coped gable ends. Brick dentil eaves. Brick string course at floor level; 2 storeys. First floor 3 windows, centre blind, sashes without glazing bars, flat rubbed brick arches. Ground floor right hand 19th century splayed bay and left hand 3-light window with glazing bars. Central glazed door and rectangular fanlight in moulded case. Large brick chimney stack at north end.

September 1981.
Unremarkable exterior. Interior generally hidden by decorations. Upper ceiling beams have stopped chamfers of an unusual form. Probably a local variant ot late 16th century. Panelling of Jacobean type but painted over.
