Cropmarks reveal the course of old road which leads to a pit, now ornamentalised, at Foxburrow.

Cropmarks of linear ditches defining a road of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S4). Two parallel ditch cropmarks are intermittently visible for up to 336m on a southwest to northeast alignment. A second group of linear cropmarks is present further to the southwest. These comprise a linear ditch and a parchmark, with the latter possibly representing the compacted or metalled surface of the road. This road is marked on Faden’s 1797 county map (S5), an 1829 map of North Elmham (S6) and the first edition one inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S7).
