Cropmarks of a rectangular enclosure of unknown date is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3282 0425. A rectangular enclosure cropmark is present. It has external dimensions of 109m by 76m. A gap in the ditch on the east side of the enclosure may relate to an entrance. The wider gap in the south side is due to an area of different soil type preventing the ditch showing as a cropmark. Linear ditch cropmarks extend to the north and east of the enclosure indicating that it formed part of a larger complex. It is likely that the enclosure is a field which pre-dates the post medieval field pattern but is of unknown date. It is cut by a west to east aligned ditch cropmark which is aligned parallel to the modern field boundaries.
J. Albone (NMP), 14 June 2007
