Owner states that after 1990 the icehouse was repaired and recovered with soil. They also planted low-growing shrubs to keep it from washing away. They also installed a wooden door with a small hole to allow bat roosting.
There is a sump in the floor, an unusual feature in Norfolk icehouses.
