Full Description
3 brick tunnels, slightly pointed, about 10 to 15 m long.
Entrances from 3 pointed arches in a brick face to water. Only the central tunnel has an access from the rear on land. 1.5m of silt inside, similar height to roof above water. They are said to be boathouses but it is difficult to see how the side tunnels functioned, unless there was a wooden stage across the front. But there do appear to be mooring rings in them. Late 18th century.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU) 4 November 1981.
(S1) for reconstruction 1997 in file.
