Full Description
3 or 4 October 1980. On line of Harleston bypass, 15m from Wells Road, along footpath.
Field 304.
Found under 4cm of loose sandy gravel after 36cm topsoil removed by machine from meadow.
Possibly redeposited by machines from elsewhere in field.
Cruciform small-long Early Saxon brooch, upper portion only.
Bronze, 6th century.

During four hours fieldwalking, no other finds in an area 35m square.
