Full Description
Marked on (S1) at former crossroads. Apparently not shown on 1958 version of (S2). It in fact stands north of the old Lynn road (now layby) and south of new straightening, north of a park lodge which is marked. Probably it was removed by mistake when revising the 1958 map to show the layby (made about 1953).
The building is still occupied as a house and appears to be unmodernised since its construction. The small window for taking tolls remains.
S. White 22 January 1982.
Gothick style, with a pointed window each side of central doorway and made from Carrstone. The informant reports that the roof and windows were reportedly replaced in 1986, making the building unlistable. However, [1] clarifies these claims by saying that the building was virtually rebuilt in replica in 1983 not 1986.
Drawing in (S3).
E. Rose (NAU) 19 November 1986.
