Summary

Metal detecting recovered a possible post medieval belt fitting. Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Survey found a few pieces of Roman and medieval pottery and prehistoric worked flint.

Late 1981. Found with metal detector.
Context 2 at 6242 9797.
Flat mitre-shaped metal object with three knobs with holes and roughly rectangular loop which shows signs of wear. Punched and incised decoration on one face. Thickness 2mm. See a similar example in (S1). S. Margeson (NCM) says it is possibly a belt fitting.

12 February 1988. Fenland fieldwalking, good conditions, weathered soil.
Context 1 over field.
Few sherds medieval pottery and occasional flint.
Archive adds one Roman sherd.
