Map

Found before 1982.
Bronze pin, good condition, gold-coloured surface, sharp point. Shank 0.15cm thick, head 0.4cm diameter with three lines, length 6cm.
Identified by finder, an amateur archaeologist, as a 'Roman shroud pin'.
A. Gregory (NCM) says the way the head is slotted onto the shank is very un-Roman.
A. Rogerson (NAU) says not Late Saxon, and unlikely to be medieval, so post medieval?
