Full Description
October 1982.
Context 2: at 5161 1065. On south side of roddon. Scatter of Roman pottery around 20m diameter. Some of the material from Context 2 has been reidentified as medieval.

Additional pottery collected and area defined by slightly greyish-brown silt against general orange brown silt of roddon.
About 5 ft (1.5) OD.
A. Gregory (NAU), identifies as predominantly late. Reasonable mixture of types one would expect in 4th century in West Norfolk.

21 October 1983. Field rewalked and material collected.
Area is around 47m northwest to southeast by 53m northeast to southwest. Material spreads on top of roddon. Small amount of bone.
Context 1: Good conditions, under winter wheat. General scatter over field of pottery, mainly Roman. Includes six sherds from very small area.
Context 3: at 5175 1077. Ground weathered & dry- ideal conditions. Concentration of Roman pottery at 6 ft (1.8m) OD with small amount animal bone. No obvious soil discolouration but ground too dry and covered with winter wheat. Set in central slightly lower part of medium roddon between two levees.
