Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1982 recovered sherds of medieval pottery and a whetstone of uncertain age.

14 December 1982.
Scatter of medieval sherds across this field (not orchard now as on 6in Ordnance Survey). Perhaps due to manuring but probably spread from: Context 1 at 4813 1081.
Small medieval site adjacent to road which could be on roddon. Sherds continue up to edge of bungalow plot.
Approximately 20m east-to-west and 20m north-to-south but sherds further north.
Soil colour change.
Silt, a little more grey but confined by modern dumping on top and to north along roadside.
No briquetage.

Some of the material recovered has been reidentified as a whetstone.
