Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1983 recorded a scatter of medieval pottery, bone, fired clay and cinder. Subsequent metal detecting and fieldwalking during 1991-93 recovered a coin of Edward I (1272-1307), a medieval crowned facemask and pieces of Late Saxon and post medieval pottery.

20 January 1983. Fenland fieldwalking. On top of roddon. Some soil discolouration probably due largely to modern rubbish. Approximately 50m east-to-west minimum x 20m north-to-south. 3.1m (10ft) OD.
Scatter of medieval pottery, bone, fired clay and cinder etc.
Fair amount of recent material mixed in and one Late Saxon sherd.
