Summary

A windmill is drawn on the 1847 tithe map of Horstead and Stanninghall. This is thought to be a post mill that was built in 1796.

Site of wind mill. Drawn on (S1) as a little tower mill (1847). Glebe Farm to the north is not marked at that date, but another farm is marked down track to north opposite. Informant states 'but in fact a post mill, sold off in parts 23 November 1872 - shell blown down around 1880. Built 1796'.
