Summary

Fieldwalking between 1981 and 1983 recovered prehistoric worked flints and post medieval pottery fragments. Metal detecting in 1989 found a Middle Saxon brooch.

1981/2 and 1982/3. Fieldwalking; Packway Close, southeast corner only. Worked flint. Post medieval sherds. Black soil. Identified by A. Gregory (NAU).

November to December 1989. Metal detecting. Middle Saxon caterpillar or 'ansate' brooch with trefoil ends to arms.
