Full Description
November 1983. Listed, Grade II.
14th century hall house, completely reconstructed in late 17th century, remodelled 18th century. Timber framed core behind rendered clay lump. Porch of about 1900, south internal gable chimneystack and rebuilt offcentre 17th century chimneystack. Timber framed wall in old kitchen of four bays, possibly mid 14th century. Service door from screens passage. Heavy scantling with principal posts arch braced in side bays. Two central bays formed doorways with trefoiled arches and punched spandrels. Cross frame survives on first floor level, tension braced in three tiers. Remains of 17th century diamond mullioned window at rear upper. 17th century fireplace in dining room. Replaced roof.
