Pill box ?
Pill box Survey notes 'remains of a post medieval defensive structure fallen off cliff at end of a green lane at approximately this location'. No traces found in 1983, about two years later, except some twisted iron bars, but the location fits the description, at end of 'old butts' on Ordnance Survey map; now mostly eroded away.
E. Rose (NAU), 18 August 1983.

Tidal scour re-exposed remains in January 1988. Concrete and brick, but in the next valley mouth to the west. Grid reference corrected.
E. Rose (NAU), 6 January 1988.
