Full Description
February 1983. Hales survey site 80. Field formerly divided into three: Context 1 to south A Context 2 to northeast B;
Context 3 to northwest C.
Some building debris (infill?) north of central pond.
Sticky clay, well weathered, less so in C. Some patches of sandy soil halfway across A slope down to road.
Context 1.
3 worked flint flakes (identified by J. Wymer (NAU) 1985).
5 probably medieval unglazed.
2 stoneware post medieval 19th century.
2 glazed red earthenware.
1 18th/19th century glazed.
1 china.
2 oxidised date ?
1 flower bowl.
Context 2.
Reduced Roman or medieval.
1 stoneware late post medieval.
Context 3.
1 strap handle medieval unglazed ? oxidised exterior.
1 medieval unglazed.
