NMP mapping has led to the alteration of the central grid reference of the site from TG 4459 1226 to TG 4565 1228.

The cropmarks described above are visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S4). They appear to fall into two groups. To the east a curvilinear ditch or trackway extends a band of slightly higher ground which lies to its east and encloses a former pond (shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S5)). The ground within this 'enclosure' seems to have suffered regular disturbance in the post-war period, and it may be of relatively late, post 1900 date (see (S6). It is not shown on any of the historic maps consulted, and perhaps represents a 20th century extraction pit. To the west, linear ditches define a possible elongated enclosure, but these are more likely to be drainage features rather than an enclosure as such. None of the features visible on the aerial photographs appears to be archaeologically significant. Consequently none have been mapped by the NMP, although the polygon defining the limit of the site has been amended.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 26 May 2007.
