Full Description
2 August 1977. NAU air photography.
Positive cropmarks.
Linear cropmarks.
D. A. Edwards (NAU)12 October 1983.
29 July 1986. NAU air photography
A D-shaped feature but perhaps of recent date.
July 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The linear and curvilinear ditches described above are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, in particular (S1)-(S2). Nothing stands out as being of archaeological significance; they appear mainly to represent late post medieval field boundaries depicted on 19th century maps (such as Bergh Apton and Thurton enclosure map (S3)), or drains. Consequently, no features have been mapped by the NMP.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 30 July 2007.
