Summary

During the construction of the Aylsham bypass in 1979, prehistoric flint implements and pot boilers, and pottery dating from the Iron Age and the medieval period was found.

June to July 1979. Found on stripped surface of line of Aylsham bypass.
Context 1 one worked flint, two medieval sherds.
Context 2 at TG 2067 3013 small patch of pot boilers and charcoal.
Context 3 at TG 2067 3010 as context 2.
Context 4 (between contexts 2 and 3) one worked flint and two Iron Age sherds.
