About 1960.
Genuine Nauheim brooch almost certainly of continental origin.
This brooch was among the material excavated by Charles Green on site NHER 5587 (NCM 99.961).
It was drawn by him among the Hockwold brooches but no small find number was put on the drawings or on the brooch. No trace found in excavtion records in November 1983 by D. Gurney (NAU). Probably therefore it was handed to him while dig was in progress and therefore it seems reasonable to assume it comes from Hockwold area. He stayed at a hotel in Brandon so it may have been handed to him there.
E.B. Green (NCM) December 1983.
