December 1983. West of school house. Foundation trenches for new bungalow and spoil heaps examined by A. Rogerson and S. Ashley (NAU).

Foundations of post medieval brick structure visible. No obvious signs of earlier occupation. Subsoil boulder clay at average 50cm depth.

Sample of post medieval pottery retained; four rims glazed red earthenware (not earlier than 18th century); one Westerwald bodysherd; one other stoneware bodysherd. Medieval sherds: two bodysherds glazed Grimston and one unglazed medieval.
