Summary

Fieldwalking in 1978 and 1987 recovered a range of worked flints, including a Mesolithic tranchet axehead, a small Neolithic axehead, various Neolithic/Bronze Age pieces and a post-medieval gunflint. Metal-detecting between 2016 and 2022 recovered a Roman pottery sherd; medieval and post-medieval coins and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorls; a medieval buckle, strap end and copper alloy seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight, dress hook, rings and a post-medieval buckle, toy plate, hinge, lead weight and crotal bell.

Found by [1] on surface of drilled field (finder's Site No. 222a):
1 Mesolithic fine flint axehead with deliberate notch in side. Described in R. Jacobi's records as a Norfolk-type adze with tranchet blow on upper face (S1).
2 Neolithic/Bronze Age flint blades, 20 flakes, 5 irregular cores, 1 chunk, 6 scrapers, 1 partly polished hammerstone.
1 post-medieval gunflint.
