February 1984. Surface find - apparently ploughed up.
In field by side of road south of castle.
Copper alloy fibula of group Q. Length 4cm, width across hinge 2.5cm. Hinged pin still intact. Catchplate also intact. Loop at top cast in one with brooch, copper alloy. Lozenge pattern down bow inlaid white enamel. Traces green and red enamel at sides. Tiny crockets down sides.
