Summary

A common type 22 hexagonal concrete pillbox, its brick facing now falling off. Situated about two hundred metres east of the Red Lion pub, it was built in about 1940 as part of the anti invasion defences of the time.

A surviving World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The central grid reference for this pillbox has been amended to TG 4268 0696. It lies 94m to the east of another World War Two structure (NHER 20340).
