Summary

This bowling green exists to the south of the road opposite clock tower and behind the former George Inn which was demolished in the 19th century. The green was mentioned as early as 1681 and is now preserved in a private garden.

South of road opposite clock tower, behind former George Inn demolished in 19th century. Green mentioned as early as 1681. Preserved in private garden as bowling green; reference in Bolingbroke Collection to it being made into a tennis court in 1900 is incorrect.
