Summary

The building known as the Granary has a limestone block carved with the date 1661 and several initials – possibly the date of a marriage. It is hard to date the building as it has been heavily modernised in recent years to function as a souvenir shop. Attached to the east is Staithecott, formerly Keepers Cottage. This building dates to the 17th century and is built from flint and brick with a thatched roof. The chimneystacks of this property are situated at the two ends.

Plaque in wall.
In wall of building now known as The Granary, limestone block inscribed 'AnnDomini (sic) 1661' with other markings probably initials forming a triangle so perhaps a marriage date.
One set of brick quoins in building could be contemporary but mostly it has been modernised as souvenir shop beyond recognition on exterior.
