Full Description
1978 and 1982. Ordnance Survey field Great Fransham 369. Field walking, diabolical weather in part.
Prehistoric flints.
Roman sherds.
Large quantities Thetford Ware shading into early medieval, one St Neots, also other medieval sherds including Grimston. Post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware.

This site is recorded as Med 16 in (S2). No documentary evidence has been found for this early medieval settlement, which only seems to have been occupied during the 12th century. NHER 20609 may be a successor to this settlement.
