Map

5 November 1984.
Found in field of winter wheat, pasture until few years ago. Low mounds, little more than 1m high, giving impression of
having been dug into from time to time. One, smaller, isolated to south is crescentic in shape. Modern debris of glass and brick on top may be irrelevent. Do not seem to be part of roddon system. Saltern mounds? No finds but silty soil.
R.J. Silvester (NAU), 5 November 1984

For full details of wares, flint types etc see Fenland Folders.

October 2002.
Visited in advance of projected tree planting scheme. Whole field ploughed until ten years ago - now under set aside. Almost no change in levels in field, certainly nothing approaching 1m as described by Silvester in 1984. All rough cut grass except for small patch in centre of field with docks and nettles, where spoil from a pond may have been deposited some years ago. Soil does not appear especially salty.
H. Paterson (A&E), 22 October 2002.
