Full Description
21 October 1984. Old series Ordnance Survey plot 42 (Wacton Field Project site 1984. II). Fieldwalking finds.
Two flint flakes and one pot boiler
One sherd 14th-15th century? Early brick fragment and typical tile fragment.
Concentration of flints brick and tile central to field suggest a barn site but not on 1928 Ordnance Survey or 1839 tithe map. This stands proud of peaty valley floor deposits through which small islands of flinty gravel show.
Finds identified by A. Gregory (NAU).
E. Rose (NAU) from notes by [1] 27 November 1984.
Notes in file.
1988.
A. Rogerson (NAU) reidentifies two sherds as one Roman greyware, and one glazed red earthenware.
E. Rose (NAU) 2 December 1988.
