Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a general scatter of medieval pottery sherds, includes one gritty Middle Saxon sherd. A possible concentration of post medieval rubbish and a few scraps of possible late medieval sherds, were also noted nearby, including one Middle Saxon Ipswich sherd.

31 December 1984. Well weathered rough ploughed land; fieldwalking.
Context 1: general scatter odd sherds medieval pottery probably deriving from. Includes one gritty Middle Saxon non-Ipswich. WMV AE (S1).
Context 2: centred at above grid reference; strip of ploughed land behind modern farm buildings covered with post medieval rubbish and few scraps of ?late medieval sherds, area around 200m north to south x 100m east to west. Includes one Middle Saxon Ipswich sherd. WMV AF (S2).
