Summary

In the 1940s-50s a hollow bronze ball with two lugs was recovered. The exact location is disputed with a source indicating it may be from Santon Downham in Suffolk but the provenance being given as Thetford. Whatever the case it was assumed the ball probably had some ritual purpose and dated to the Saxon or medieval period.

This is in Sandon Downham, Suffolk but object is provenanced as Thetford. Is the grid reference wrong, as elsewhere in same publication, or is the object simply in Thetford Museum?
