Summary

Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Survey has recovered scatters of prehistoric worked flints and fragments of late prehistoric and Roman pottery.

24 January 1985. Fenland fieldwalking.
In ploughed and weathered field.
General scatter divided into two contexts:
Context 1 (BH) west half.
Context 2 (BI) east half.
Odd pottery and flints. Pottery includes Roman.

Context 3 at 7038 9181 centred.
Odd sherds close to south edge, and a few to the west (BJ). Includes Roman.

Context 4 at 7013 9197 centred.
Small scatter of flints over area about 30m (FWL BG).
R. Silvester (NAU).

Some of the material from Context 3 has been reidentified as Roman pottery.
