Summary

Fieldwalking in 1985 by the Fenland Survey recovered a scatter of many medieval pottery sherds from across this field, as well as noting a concentration of medieval pottery sherds.

19 March 1985. Fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil very boggy in places.
Context 1 = general scatter of many sherds medieval, unsurprising in view of proximity of drove. TYL BW (S1).
Context 2 at 5734 1619 = Sparse to moderate concentration of medieval pottery probably beside an invisible drove. 48 x 29m at 2.4m OD. TYL 23 (S2).
