Summary

This was the site of a small settlement during the medieval period, and a house is recorded on the site in medieval documents dating from the 14th century. Field walking recovered prehistoric flints, medieval roof tile and pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval periods.

Full Description

March 1985. Field Ordnance Survye Great F.258 containing demolished buildings at High Green.
Field walking in good conditions and growing corn.
Medieval sherds including Grimston etc. One sherd might possibly be pre medieval.
Post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware, bellarmine etc.
