Summary

A crescent-shaped area of burnt flint has been identified as a prehistoric burnt mound. The flint was recovered during fieldwalking.

1985. Found in fieldwalking. Just west of south end of Brick Kiln Lane.
Crescent shaped area of pot boilers.

March 2001. NLA Visit.
Site visted with landowner. Site still obvious in ploughed field at top of slope from stream, remarkably large and clear crescent of white flint in tiny crazed fragments, with at centre a band of large brown flint fragments not firecracked.
Somewhat spread by plough on uphill side otherwise well preserved. Marked out for removing from cultivation.
