Summary

Sometime prior to 1915 a 'prehistoric flint' was recovered from somewhere within East Runton. It was described at the time of discovery as a Palaeolithic implement but a more recent assessment suggests that it is a natural flint.

1915. East Runton.
Flint implement marked 'Pre-Crag 1915 East Runton' and thus eolithic; but described by informant as a rough Palaeolithic implement with broken point.
Held by Passmore Edwards Museum

The identification was in fact made by an assistant. Informant reports that in her opinion this is 'a good example of an eolith'.
