Summary

Metal detecting here in 1985 recovered a medieval lead ampulla, part of a copper alloy seal matrix and a penny minted during the reign of Henry III. A selection of pottery sherds were also found in the same area, with pieces of post medieval glazed red earthenware, Frechen stoneware and Sieburg stoneware being identified.

Full Description

22 August 1985. Found with metal detector.
1st-2nd century greyware sherd.
Medieval lead ampulla and bronze shield once enamelled or painted. Bronze seal matrix circular facetted handle, loop missing, religious device.
Early medieval rim and sherds.
Post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware, slipware, Frechen and Sieburg stoneware.
