Full Description
March 1959. Listed, Grade I.
Listing Description Excerpt:
"Parish church. Pre 1100 evidence in nave, c.1200 south door, c.1300 chancel, C15 overall. Flint with stone dressings, some conglomerate and Roman tiles as dressings in nave, traces of rendering. Roofs: nave slated, chancel and south transept black glazed pantiles."

St Mary's.
Probable Saxo Norman nave and ?west end chancel. Conglomerate and ?Roman bricks in quoins and blocked doorway. Early 13th century nave doorways. Chancel extended later 13th century. South chapel, nave windows, very fine roof, buttresses and rood stair all about 1490. Tower recorded as built early 16th century, south porch probably of this date, demolished vestry. Poor 19th century repairs. Good medieval tombslab. Jacobean woodwork.
