Full Description
1966.
Sherds 1300-1800 and T-shaped black stain over about 18m (20 yds) in field ploughed after pasture.
Context 3 at (see Notes). (S1) (copy NCM card).
Grid reference corrected from KLM 6 inch map where it is described as 'remains of medieval building and pottery 1300 -1500'.

Weathered soil and young cereal.
Context 1 is a general scatter over field odd sherds medieval pottery, becoming denser in south of field around Context 3 (CLE AH). Also one Thetford ware.
Context 2 at (see Notes). Concentration of medieval and late medieval pottery, moderate, former slightly to west of latter, with abundant post medieval rubbish, abundant shell, moderate animal bone. Soil stained but main black stain probably post medieval.
On edge of 'drove' or 'green' for drop of up to 1m to south, 43m x 39m at 2.7m OD. NCM
