Summary

Fieldwalking in 1985 by the Fenland Survey recovered a number of medieval pottery sherds from across this area, as well as noting a concentration of medieval pottery sherds, shell and bone, on the edge of a possible medieval drove.

12 November 1985. Fieldwalking on deep ploughed much weathered soil.
Context 1: odd medieval sherds mostly close to drove, one small group on roddon at 5715 1278. TYL CX (S1).
Context 2 at 5711 1264: concentration sparse medieval pot, sparse shell, very sparse bone, only fragment of post medieval rubbish. Medieval sherds generally very small. On edge of medieval drove 36m east to west x 25m north to south at 0.6m OD. TYL 43 (S2).
