Autumn 1985. North of Anvil Pit. Metal detecting.
Awl shaped object of iron 5.5cm long. Similar to objects in South Shields Roman fort catalogue, described as possible Roman awls, but not an exact parallel.

Large oval copper alloy strap end buckle 4.9cm x 3.5cm overall. Late medieval.
