Summary

Metal detectorists have found Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval objects. They include a Roman cosmetic mortar, a coin of Edward the Confessor, medieval coins, part of a medieval dog-shaped padlock and a fragment of a musket ball mould.

Copper alloy domed stud decorated with engraved foliage and raised cross. White metal plated, traces of iron on reverse. From armour?, post medieval.

Bronze hollow handle (?) in form of animal (dog), medieval. Identified by S. Margeson (NCM) as whistle or lock, but in fact it is a padlock in form of animal, head missing. Parallels from Butley and Dunwich, both in Suffolk.
