Summary

A Mesolithic flaked flint axehead was found here during the demolition of an old shed in 1984. It is possible that this was a collector's piece and therefore originally from some other location.

1984. Stray Find.
Found by workman, during demolition of old shed.
Mesolithic medium-sized flint tranchet axe (16.5 cm long) in fresh condition, unpatinated, grey brown mottled flint. Possibly a collector's piece and therefore not of this provenance. Information from C. Bowyer (NCM). Now held by NCM (NWHCM : 1986.217).
