Summary

A tiny 18th century thatched brick marshman's cottage set near the River Ant. It has one large room downstairs and two small upstairs bedrooms. Derelict for many years, it is now preserved as a museum and equipped with Victorian period items.

Typical 19th century marshman's cottage; brick, two storeys, two rooms on each floor (upper floor is attic); thatched. One gable stack, projects internally. To be restored with period furnishings etc. See press cuttings (S1) to (S3) in file.

Dates to 1740. Has outshut on flint plinth.
States two service rooms, one with arched brick shelves, open into kitchen with opposed entry doors; large fireplace with brick hob; winder staircase to attic bedroom.
