Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1986 recovered medieval pottery sherds, shell fragments and pieces of animal bone. These materials were all found near to a possible medieval trackway.

29 January 1986. Fieldwalking in weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: odd medieval sherds, general scatter. Site TYS BE.
Context 2: at [1]. Concentration medieval pottery sparse, shell sparse and includes mussels, bone very very sparse. No post medieval material. On edge of drove and soil stained slightly grey. 32m northwest-southeast x 21m northeast-southwest at 3m OD. Site TYS 23.
