Summary

Fieldwalking recovered fragments of medieval and post medieval pottery. Pieces of medieval quern stone were also found. The concentration of medieval finds suggests this was an area of medieval settlement.

Remains of market garden crop, and reeds.

Lava quern fragments (not collected).
Fifty six medieval unglazed including ginger jar rim, but predominantly 13th to 14th century.
Six medieval unglazed.
Three late medieval/transitional.
Three glazed red earthenware.

Site 35.
This area has been interpreted a a medieval settlement. Slightly higher than site 19, NHER 22664, separated from it by a recent shallow ditch.
